Programme Duration
LASU offers two Sandwich Degree programme durations:
| Programme | Eligibility |
|---|---|
| 4-Year Sandwich Degree Programme | Candidates with NCE or ND at Merit/Lower Credit grade or above |
| 5-Year Sandwich Degree Programme | Candidates with WASC, SSCE, NABTEB or NCE qualifications who do not meet the requirements for the 4-year programme |
4-Year Programme
The 4-Year Sandwich Degree Programme is designed for candidates who possess:
- NCE at Merit grade or above; or
- ND at Lower Credit grade or above.
5-Year Programme
The 5-Year Sandwich Degree Programme is available to candidates with:
- WASC;
- SSCE;
- NABTEB; or
- NCE qualifications who do not meet the requirements for admission into the 4-year programme.
Entry Requirements
General Entry Requirements
Applicants are expected to satisfy the following general admission requirements:
- Five (5) relevant O’Level credit passes obtained at not more than two sittings.
- Two (2) relevant A’Level passes or NCE with Merit in a relevant area.
- A relevant 2-year University/Polytechnic Diploma obtained at not less than Merit level is also acceptable.
- Credit passes in English Language and Mathematics are compulsory for all courses.
Important: Applicants should also check the subject-specific requirements for their intended major below.
English Major Requirements
Candidates applying for an English major must have:
- Credit pass in English Language;
- Credit pass in Literature-in-English; and
- Other relevant Arts or Social Science subjects.
Economics Major Requirements
Candidates must have relevant credit passes in:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Economics
- Other relevant Arts or Social Science subjects
Political Science Major Requirements
Candidates must have relevant credit passes in:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Government or History
- Other relevant Arts or Social Science subjects
Human Kinetics, Sports & Health Education Requirements
Candidates must have:
- Credit pass in English Language;
- Credit pass in Biology or Agricultural Science; and
- Other relevant Science or Arts subjects.
Health Education Requirements
Candidates must possess:
- Credit pass in English Language;
- Credit pass in Biology or Agricultural Science; and
- Other relevant O’Level subjects.
The following professional qualification holders may also apply:
- Staff Registered Nurse and Midwifery Certificate holders;
- Environmental Health Diploma holders from a School of Health Technology.
Candidates applying with these qualifications must have five (5) O’Level passes, including English Language and Biology.
Mathematics & Science Major Requirements
Candidates must have relevant credit passes in:
- Mathematics
- English Language
- Physics
- Another Science subject
Other Acceptable Qualifications
LASU may also accept the following qualifications, subject to the applicable programme requirements:
- Economics: ICAN Part II and CTS Part II are acceptable.
- Arabic: Certificates from recognised Arabic institutions may be accepted for candidates who did not take Arabic at SSCE/GCE O’Level, provided all other requirements are satisfied.
- NCE Arabic: NCE Arabic with Merit is acceptable.
- Yoruba: LASU accepts another Arts or Social Science subject in place of Yoruba Language.
- Human Kinetics, Sports and Health Education: A Diploma in any of the following may be accepted:
- Health Education
- Environmental Health
- Physical Education
- Social Work
- Health Administration
- A Certificate in Coaching or Advanced Diploma in Sports from the Nigerian Institute for Sports with at least Merit may also be accepted.
O’Level Requirement: Candidates applying with the qualifications above must have five (5) O’Level passes, including English Language.

How to Apply
Applicants should follow these steps:
- Visit the official LASU website:
www.lasu.edu.ng - Pay the ₦10,000 application fee through the University’s designated payment channel.
- Complete the application form online.
- Print the completed application form.
- Submit the following to the Directorate of Sandwich Degree Programme at either campus:
- Printed application form; and
- Appropriate O’Level scratch card(s).
Payment Warning: Do not pay application money to any individual or unauthorised account. Payments should only be made through the University’s designated payment channel.
Application Deadline
Applications close ten (10) weeks from the publication date of 21 July 2026.
Applicants are advised to complete their applications well before the deadline.
